2010 was the year that we launched the first ever Fusion Flowers International Designer of the Year Competition and we received entries from all over the world. Competitors were required to submit a portfolio of four very different designs, one in each of four categories - Inspired by Nature; Ground Breaking; Free Expression and Bridal on a high resolution disc. Photographs could be taken by either a professional or amateur photographer.

The three international judges were each sent a digital book of all the portfolios that had been submitted and they in turn were invited to select the winners and could issue various awards - Gold, Silver, Bronze and, in the case of remarkable and high scoring work, Platinum. None of the judges were told who the others were until after judging had been completed. The judges were Moniek Vanden Berghe, Belgium; Christina Pang, Singapore and Jouni Seppanen, Finland.

The overall winner, Pirjo Koppi of Finland, won an outright award together with £1,000.00 and has been invited to Scotland to participate in the annual photoshoot for Fusion Flowers magazine. The Second and Third prize winners were also each awarded an outright award.

The award winning designs have now been compiled into a digital book available to download for only £8.50. Now you can appreciate the range and scope of these remarkable designs. The 2011 competition is now open for entries.
