The original sketchbook by Gregor Lersch was produced several years ago and, at the time, sold like hot cakes. In this, a new version with new designs and layout, i think the original formula has been improved. Mr Lersch sketches all the time and anyone who has the pleasure of working with him will confirm this. Even when asked to autograph his books he will take the time to create a drawing for the individual concerned. All of this may sound very nice and creative but, in fact; the collection of sketches and notations explaining techniques and mechanics to be applied here are derived from his various demonstrations and workshops around the world.

With around 250 sketches, this book is a treasure trove for teachers, students and contemporary designers. Gregor’s style of design is constantly evolving and many of the designs featured explain how he has arrived at where he is today. For the purists there are, for the first time in years, explanations and sketches of his famous bridal bouquets. This is very exciting and without a doubt will alter the techniques used by many designers around the world.

Do not expect glorious colour photographs – there are none. Everything, including the photography of the man at work, is done in monotone. Included this time around, is a graphic on every page which explains the reasoning and uses of the designs. I am certain that, once again, those in the know, will rush to buy this book and treasure it. This comes with a high recommendation for tutors.
