Outdoor Flower Designs

The growing trend for ‘outdoor living’ is becoming so popular these days that entire events are dedicated to it.  Initially inspired by climate change, the trend encompasses the desire to reverse the previous trend and now bring the home into the garden.  Nature features large and loud and can be interpreted in many ways both by interior designers and gardeners alike.  But for the clever floral designer this trend offers an opportunity for them to shine because who is better placed to interpret this theme than someone who works with it on a daily basis.

Katrien Vandierendonck is a well-known Belgian designer who specialises in themed events and wedding parties.  She recognised this opportunity and, in her latest book, Outdoor Flower Designs, Katrien explores as many concepts as possible.  

She certainly has some lovely ideas and features everything from bridal concepts to picnics; drinks parties to formal events; whimsy in the garden to a ‘dinner party for wild birds’.  This book would therefore be ideal for someone who likes to explore new ideas and is open to coping with the outdoor environment and all its inherent challenges.  This is a perfect book for a gift.
