 Pim van den Akker is a very talented young man who, when he was in his final year at a Dutch Master School, created and eventually published his first book as his final thesis. This went on to become an international best seller.
These days, Pim is recognised more as a designer of exclusive furniture and lighting but, as is evident in his latest book, Floral Design, he still finds time to create amazing arrangements. What is so interesting about his work is his original and very masculine approach to design. There are clear elements of architectural influence to be seen in his designs but perhaps more exciting is the fact that he is prepared to explain how he made the arrangements and the techniques he employed.
Therefore, every page is a treasure trove of information (albeit brief) for any designer who is interested in this type of work. Because in each case, Pim gives notes on how he brought his ideas to life! This is very unusual and very altruistic.
