Season of Enchantment

Fresh from his experiences at the Singapore Garden Festival, Damien Koh wrote his latest article for Fusion Flowers magazine at 3.00 am in his hotel room in – China!

Damien, who is himself a highly respected international designer, reveals the winners in the highly competitive section of the show known as Floral Windows to the World.  Fourteen designers were invited to participate.  Their task was to give the public a view from and of their personal Floral Window.  The designers came from as far afield as The Netherlands, Norway, Canada, India, Korea and the UK.

The pressure to create this level of work in a space measuring 10 metres in length, 5 metres depth and 3 metres height in another country is almost awe inspiring.  The work was so good that we have decided to run two articles to allow readers to see just how spectacular it was!

William Tang, the photographer working with Damien, had only 15 minutes to shoot these huge exhibition pieces between judging and the arrival of the public.  Needless to say we were concerned that under such pressure, he might not be able to capture the displays but – he did.  Damien gives an insight into each display together with tips for anyone who may find themselves in the position of exhibiting at this type of event in the future!
