Dream On

When we told Sue Phillips that we wanted her to report on floral design from Thailand – she became quite excited

Quite how excited she was is evident in her first report from the Hampton Court Palace Show!

Sue managed to let her imagination run riot as the sights and sounds of a Thai floating market became a reality.  She fell in love with the people, their flowers and their dedicated ability to create beautiful floral compositions.  Stunning colours and intricately sculpted fruit were the order of the day but she also managed to find inspiration in their floral headdresses, bracelets and necklaces.  These hand crafted designs involved the threading of individual flower heads, petals and woven leaves to create some of the most remarkable concepts we have ever seen.

Her highly colourful report certainly inspired everyone in our office to research more information about the techniques used to create these designs.  In fact, we have managed to source a few of the concepts and these will feature in Issue 45 of Fusion Flowers magazine.

In the meantime, we know that you’ll find Sue’s story and images inspiring and you can find the full story and detailed images in Issue 44 of Fusion Flowers magazine.
