Pink Persuasion

The Norwegian National Interflora competition regularly produces interesting designs and 2006 was no exception.

Apparently some people believe that taking part in competitions is pointless.  This, they say, is because the work that is produced is not necessarily the best nor is it particularly commercial.  Well the jury is out on that one!  The Fusion Flowers team certainly do not believe that this is the case.  In fact competition work has lead to many breakthroughs in technique which are now regularly employed in contemporary design and also commercial floristry.

The Interflora Championships in Norway has become a forum for just this type of work and has in turn allowed many of the winners to become well-known at international level.  We are delighted, therefore, to be able to feature a selection of some of the work produced at the 2006 Championships in Issue 34.  Readers should also note that the cover design was produced for the competition by the winner, Linda Johnsen, whose work has featured in previous issues of Fusion Flowers.  We hope you will be as delighted by the diverse nature of the arrangements as we are.
