Natural Worship

Give your designs and arrangements an up-to-the-minute look by using white as your predominant colour contrasted with black and pastel colour accents.  In the Flower Council of Holland's new spring Trend 'Natural Worship', white is the most important colour, supplemented by fresh spring colours. Flowers will be delicate and romantic, especially those that work well with twigs and bark to emphasise a more rugged look.

Without doubt the flowers that suit this Trend all have a symbolic significance, with roses, freesia, tulips, lilies, syringa and narcissi playing a key part. Other suggested flowers which support this theme include Agapanthus, Chamelaucian, Eucharis, Forsythia, Ornithogalum, Prunus, Ranunculus, Salix, Solidago, Veronica and Viburnum. The choice of materials could include wood, stone and concrete as well as stained glass, shells, beads and patterns containing references to religious symbols.

We thought it might be interesting for Newsletter readers to take a look at some of the symbolic meanings behind the flowers featured in the new Trend.  We have listed below information relevant to each flower which we hope will be helpful.
