Written by Alison Bradley
Thursday, 21 January 2010
The International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) has announced the launch of a new trade exhibition dedicated entirely to the promotion of the international Floriculture Industry. After it became clear that the Horti Fair exhibition was not going to change the dates of their show to the first week of November (as requested by many exhibitors), the decision was taken to launch a new trade fair which will take place from Wednesday 3 November to Friday 5 November 2010.
A national online florists' panel will be starting in
January 2010: an online florists' panel which you can apply to. By taking part,
you can give your opinion, anonymously or otherwise, on subjects that directly
have to do with the way you conduct your business. Think of judging species of flowers and
plants, the available assortment, judging florists’ organisations, the
statistics of special days, etc. Your information can help the horticultural
sector to better gear their products and services to your needs and desires.

POLAR FANTASY Philadelphia Flower Show, 2010
Written by Alison Bradley
Tuesday, 30 June 2009
We have been following the exploits of Bill Schaffer AIDF, AAF, PFCI of Schaffer Designs, Philadelphia and his team as they prepared and then completed their design, Polar Fantasy, at the Philadelphia Flower Show 2010. They took the brave and quite remarkable approach of daring to create a white on white concept in what will no doubt otherwise have been a very colourful show.
Unfortunately we are unable to sell Spray Tack 2000 as this is now on the list of prohibited items by Royal Mail. If you require any further information please contact us on the usual number.

We are delighted to announce that Fusion Flowers magazine has once again won the prestigious award of Best Magazine by a small publishing company in the 2008 PPA Scotland Awards. If anything, the competition was more fierce than before with five top title magazines short listed for the final part of the competition. The category was sponsored by Pensord printing house and the award was presented by the Managing Director, Tony Jones.
We've been told that this is an all time first for any magazine to win an award at this level - three times in four years! From our point of view, it means that flowers and floral design are now taken very seriously indeed. The judges came from the cream of the industry and included a former chief executive of the Economist Group, a former editor of the Daily Express and a member of the Board of the Hearst Corporation.
Fusion Flowers magazine also received Highly Commended notices in two other categories - Best Online Presence and Consumer Magazine of the Year where we were short listed too. This is an amazing achievement by anyone's standards and shows just how well regarded our magazines are.
Since our launch in 2001 there has always been a core of dedicated Fusion Flowers subscribers who would not dream of missing an issue. As we passed our 8th Anniversary, it became apparent that more and more of you were becoming collectors - with a particular tendency for new subscribers to add a number of recent back issues to their order.
Well we've now made it even easier to get your Fusion Flowers collection off to a good start - we've put together a range of special Catch-up Packs at a very special price covering the most recent 3 or 6 issues, plus an optional binder. Enjoy!
