This is the second book in the series produced by Stichting Kunstboek in Belgium. The plan is that once a year designers from around the world will be encouraged to submit their work for review. The criteria being that it should be of the minute and must reflect the influences of each designer concerned. This is therefore a pictorial record of the development of contemporary floral design as it happens. These books are guaranteed to become collectors items.
The monumental task of selecting suitable images and designs is growing annually. However, all of the hard work involved is certainly worthwhile and the books are art forms in themselves.
The designers that feature vary from the expected top floristry names to those that we have never heard of before. This is therefore really exciting because it means that the work featured shows the broad spectrum of what is happening today. The designs are not meant to be in any way commercial but are personal expressions on where the individual concerned is within their own personal journey. Be under no illusions - this is art using flowers as the medium.
Some of the designs will be featured in Issue 36 of Fusion Flowers magazine.
