Bill Murphy AIFD is an event-planner with 20 years of experience in the business. In his book 'Entertaining with Flowers', Bill shows in nine chapters a range of themed events from a Valentine Wedding Party to a Retirement Celebration. The thrust of the book is very much about the event as a whole and as such there are useful check lists, step-by-step designer tips and notations indicating the thought process behind the selection of flowers etc. Much of the work shown is of massed designs and, as such, is not particularly contemporary in nature. However, this would certainly be a good resource for someone venturing into the world of event planning or indeed for someone venturing into floristry too.
Although most of the photography is good, there is some evidence of blurred and soft focus images which is a pity. We feel that this would be a good book for someone starting out in business, the designs are not very adventurous but they are manageable and sometimes that's what matters.
