192 pages Hardback Written in English, French, Dutch and German

Daniël Ost has, without doubt, become a legend within his own
lifetime and some of his books have become collector’s items. Many of
the original large scale books now achieve three times the original
price on the re-sale market. In Invitation II, his latest volume, Mr
Ost has once again reached the dizzying heights of excellence of some
of his previous publications and whereas some of the more recent
volumes have featured disappointing imagery and even work previously
featured in other books; this is not the case in Invitations II – the
book is quite simply – spectacular!

Andy kindly sent a copy of his book to us as a gift but we were so impressed by some of the work, we asked if it would be possible for us to import it to offer to our readers. This he kindly agreed to do and the result is that we can now offer you this remarkable book to buy.

This booklet has been produced by the Society of Floristry in answer to the various definitions currently being taught throughout the world on the subject of the term Form Linear design and on the 3:5:8 proportions. The concept, having originated from a meeting of the International Floristry Tutors Group when they met in Poland under the tutelage of German Master Florist, Gregor Lersch, was finally brought to fruition in 2009. The booklet is therefore intended for use by floristry students, qualified florists, tutors, assessors, judges and examiners to give a level grounding for these subjects.
The booklet is very accessible and easy to read with excellent line drawings and photography.

| Creativity with Flowers - Weddings |
Creativity with Flowers - Weddings by Life 3
96 pages Hardback Written in English Published in 2009 by Stichting Kunstboek Photography by Kurt Dekeyzer, Helén Pe, Viktor and Natalia Smirnov and Pim van der Maden
The talented trio of Per Benjamin, Max van de Sluis and Tomas De Bruyne are back with another title in their series of step-by-step books which are collectively called – Creativity with Flowers. This time they cover the subject of Wedding Flowers. All of the books in this series have been highly sought after as they give such a broad spectrum of information and technical insight into how the various designs are created. However, there is absolutely no question that this little volume will out sell the others because – the demand for this type of book is huge!

Japanese Contemporary Floral Art by Naoki Sasaki
96 pages Hardback Written in English Published in 2009 by Stichting Kunstboek Photography by
Naoki Sasaki, Shinji Terakawa, Miyuki Suzuki and Joji Okamoto
The work of this highly talented young man initially came to our attention in the first International Floral Art Annual produced in Belgium. Naoki won the Gold Leaf Award and his work took the panel of judges by storm because, on occasion, it was hard to imagine just how he had managed to achieve the results. I can attest to this because – I was on the judging panel that year.

Table Design by Marie-Françoise Déprez
120 pages Hardback Written in English, French and German Published in 2008 by © Éditions La Taillanderie and Jeux de Fleurs International floral art institute Photography by Marie-Françoise Déprez and Gérald Gambier
There is absolutely no doubt that modern French design is extremely popular. Leading arrangers have, over the years, created dramatic, often architectural designs which have translated well into the contemporary idiom. However, very few of these designers appear to be moving on and apparently prefer instead to strive for perfection of presentation.

| Sketchbook No 2 |
Sketchbook No 2 by Gregor Lersch
100 pages Softback Published in 2009 by FloralDesign Edition Text in English and German Photography by Matthias Schäfer and sketches by Gregor Lersch
The original Sketchbook by Gregor Lersch was produced several years ago and, at the time, sold like hot cakes. In this, a new version with new designs and layout, I think the original formula has been improved. Mr Lersch sketches all the time and anyone who has the pleasure of working with him will confirm this. Even when asked to autograph his books he will take the time to create a drawing for the individual concerned. All of this may sound very nice and creative but, in fact; the collection of sketches and notations explaining techniques and mechanics to be applied here are derived from his various demonstrations and workshops around the world.

Contemporary Floral Art by Ryusaku Matsuda
104 pages Hardback Written in English Published in 2008 by Stichting Kunstboek Photography by
Kiyokazu Nakajima, Kenichi Ogoshi, Yoichiro Hinata and Becket Logan
It is a rare opportunity indeed to find ourselves reviewing a book by a Japanese Master. Ryusaku Matsuda is a legend in design terms and has had more oneman exhibitions than you can imagine. In fact, his large scale installations (because that’s what many of them are) is a cross between contemporary Ikebana and Land Art. Interestingly, Mr Matsuda does not consider himself to be an artist as such. He has previously produced several successful books but this one is dedicated to contemporary Floral Art.
